Sometimes he went by "Thomas Jefferson Sweat" but he seems to have actually been "Thomas Jasper". Thomas was born in Bear Creek, Chesterfield County, South Carolina, the son of Jesse SWEAT and 1st wife Nancy EDDENS.
Thomas was husband of Elizabeth Saphronia "Betty" GIDDENS. They married December 17, 1871 in Homerville, Clinch County, Georgia.
Thomas and Betty died in Florida. They are buried next to daughter Mrs. Rebecca Jane SWEAT Moore.
They are my biological maternal 2nd great-grandparents.
