Durand - Curtis Woods, 70, of Swartz Creek, Route 2 died at his home here Tuesday noon following an illness of four years.

The remains will rest at the residence until Friday noon when they will be taken to the Bellows Funeral Home here for services at 2 p.m. same day, with the Rev. Leonard Kemp of Duffield officiating and burial following in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Woods was born in New York State on Feb. 3, 1879, a son of Edward and Hattie Woods. He was a graduate of the old Fenton Business College and resided in the Swartz Creek vicinity for the past 63 years, On Feb. 22, 1906, he was married in Gaines to Miss Verna Herrick. He was a member of the Gleaners and the Methodist Church at Swartz Creek.

Surviving are his widow; five daughters, Mrs. Helen Drury of Durand, Mrs. Nina Warren of Flint, Mrs. Florence Hill of near Durand, Mrs. Bertha Yeager of Durand; a son, Henry, at home, two sisters, Mrs. Lillian carrier of Swartz Creek and Mrs. Alice Sharrer of Flint; and 16 grandchildren, another son died in 1937.
