Lena M. "Lee" Wing, aged 80 of Clare, died on Thursday Dec. 4 in the Clare Nursing Home.
She was born on June 28,1906 in Big Rapids the daughter of David H. & Della (Hollenbeck) Van Alstine. She married Ben Wing on March 10, 1961. Mrs. Wing moved to Clare in 1956 and worked as a waitress in several area restaurants. She was a member of the Moose Lodge of Clare.
She is survived by her husband Ben; a son Raymond Wing of Haslett; 2 daughters Mrs. Kay Pratt of Elm Hall and Mrs. Judy Curtis of Winn; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a sister Vern Steigmeier of Grand Rapids.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wing were held on Monday Dec. 8, at 11:00 a.m, in the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Lewis officiating. Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. (The Clare Sentinel, p. 7 - Clare, MI - 9 December 1986)
