Born in Leeds, England, Mrs. Buckley died March 23, 1893. She was the wife of Daniel Buckley. Survivors include 3 sons; Joseph A, of Delaware Township, James D., of Gainesville, Texas, Daniel D., of Missouri; 3 daughters; Mrs. Harriet L. Emery of Delaware Township, Mrs. Genung of Port Byron, Illinois, and Mrs. Fred Purdy of Washington.

Mrs. Martha Buckley, widow of Daniel Buckley, died on last Thursday morning, March 23rd, at the residence of her son, Joseph A. Buckley, at Dingman's Ferry, from an aggravated form of heart trouble. Mrs. Buckley was well known and very high respected throughout the whole community and her death causes universal sorrow.

She was born in Leeds, England, on Janury 20, 1813 and came to this country with her father's family when she was seven years old. In 1831 she was married to Daniel Buckley. Their married life was a very happy one until the death of her husband on November 1st, 1868.

At the age of sixteen years she was united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and for sixty-four years she had live a pure, upright, consistent Christian life. She had always been noted for her intense love for Methodism, for her staunch advocacy of its doctrines and forms of worship and was ever a loyal supporter of her church and its pastor. She never would allow anyone to say a word in her presence against the Methodist church or its ministry.

Mrs. Buckley leaves three sons and three daughters, Mr. Joseph A. Buckley of Delaware township, James D. Buckley, a prominent business man in Gainesville, Texas, and Daniel D. Buckley, Associate Judge of one of the Missouri courts, are her sons and Mrs. Harriet L., wife of James H. Emery, of Delaware township, Mrs. Genung, of Port Byron, Ill., and Mrs. Fred Purdy of Washington are her daughters.

The funeral services occurred on Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church. The pall bearers were John B. Van Auken, Joseph V. Carhuff, John Shepherd, Jacob O. Brown, Kline Titman and John Retallic, Jr.
