Reverend T.E. Mounts was born May 29, 1858 in Cuba, MO to Christopher Columbos and Martha Melvina Bottorff Mounts. On January 17, 1883 he married Bessie Ann Bennett. He became an ordained Baptist minister in 1901 at Blue Lick and served the church there, as well as pastorates in Sturgeon, Odessa, Mt. Zion and Union Church in Columbia, for many years. He had retired to his Blue Lick, MO farm three years prior to his death. He was survived by seven children, William Sanford Mounts, Martha Melvina DeMoss, Alice Taylor, Thomas Jefferson Mounts, Carl Clifford Mounts, Mabel Myrtle McFarland and Ira Milton Mounts. T.E. Mounts and his wife Bessie passed away less than one day apart from natural causes, Bessie losing a battle with pernicious anemia on Friday May 1, 1931 and T.E. suffering a stroke on Saturday, May 2.
