Miza Beckerdite, nee Highfill, passed away at her home May 5, 1921, after several months of illness. She was born October 18, 1850, in Hardeman County, TN, coming to Dallas County when she was three years old with her parents. She was married at the age of 18 to Addison T. Beckerdite. At age 17, she professed a hope to Christ and united with the Mt. Olive Baptist church, of which she was a member at death. She leaves 2 sons, Albert and Presley Maldon; and daughter, Mrs. W.H. Jeffries. Five children and her husband have preceded her in death. Also 4 brothers, a sister and a host of friends survive.Rev. E.D. Fortner conducted the funeral service; after which interment was made in the Mt. Olive Cemetery on Friday,MAy 6, 1921. She bore her affliction with patience and said a few days before her death after recovering from one of her smothering spells, that the Lord wold come one of these days and take her home.
