CLAUDE ATTEBERY
---Claude Attebery, age sixty-five years, eight months and two days, deputy Circut Clerk of Macon County, died at his home in Macon, Monay, following an illness of sometime. However he was able to be up and about most of the time.
---Mr. Attebery was born in Atlanta January 24, 1873 the son of Albert M. and Jeanette Attebery.
---He was united in marriage to Miss Mittie Moody, daughter of Mr. and Mr. James Moody who lived around Atlanta for about fifty years. The widow survives, as do three children, Mrs. Opal (Ebert) Fortner, Mrs. Leola (Vane) Dowell and Aaron Attebery all of Kansas, Wisconsin; four grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
---When Mr. and Mrs. Attebery were first married they resided on a farm east of Atlanta, later they moved to Atlanta where Mr. Attebery was employed in the Snow & Company General Merchanise Store and following this time he studied pharmacy and went into the Drug Store business in Atlanta with Charles Davisson. Some years later the Attebery family moved to Kahoka then moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin where they made their home. After residing in Wisconsin a number of years the family moved back to Atlanta and shortly thereafter Mr. Attebery was appointed by the present Circuit Clerk, Perle Crawford, to be his deputy, a position he has held for practically three years.
---Funeral services were held in Macon Wednesday afternoon and burial was made at Mt. Tabor cemetery east of Atlanta.
