Louise Fogle Derflinger, 90, of Bethel, Virginia, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at her home.
Lou was born on December 23, 1920 in Front Royal, Virginia, and was the daughter of Mack and Ruth Fogle.
Lou is survived by her two children, Carol Britton married to Walter Britton of Bethel, and Franklin Derflinger married to Carolyn Derflinger of Woodstock; grandchildren Walt "Butch" Britton, Dennis Derflinger, Stephanie Britton, Debbie Derflinger Santmyers and Darin Derflinger; great grandchildren, Jason Santmyers, Alyssa, Nicole and Brianna Derflinger and Jacob and Luke Britton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jonas Derflinger and a sister, Mildred Cathleen Fogle Bayly.
A Celebration of Lou's life was held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 6:00 -7:30 p.m. at the Bethel Assembly of God. Burial was at Panorama Memorial Gardens for immediate family at a future date.
Lou is lovingly remembered for owning and operating a mom and pop country store, "Derflinger's Store", for 50 years in Bethel. She loved being outside working in her flower bed and vegetable garden or sitting on her porch swinging. She was a rare, generous and pure spirit who will be sorely missed.
