- Obituary -

A telegram was received here by Mr. L. R. Conro Thursday announcing the death of Mrs. Permelia Mayfield, which occurred that day at the home of her son-in-law, R. B. Sharp, at Bobb, I.T. The message stated that the remains would be brought here for burial.

Mrs. Mayfield lived in this neighborhood from 1876 until about two years ago, when she moved with her son-in-law and daughter to the Territory. She was the widow of Mr. Saunders Mayfield, who died in the North Brown community about seven years ago. After the death of her husband, she lived with her children, all of who were devoted to her and took delight in making her last days bright and pleasant. Although she had reached the age of 72 years, she was not feeble as most people at that age and her gentle and kind disposition endeared her to all with whom she was associated, and especially was she held in high esteem by the children and young people who knew her.

She leaves four daughters, *Mesdames, P. E. Ard and R. M. Bratton of Stamford, Mrs. Rebecca Crockett of Mullin, and Mrs. L. R. Conro of this city, besides a number of grandchildren and other relatives who are grieved beyond expression on account of her death, which was very sudden and a great shock to them as well as her host of friends and acquaintances.

The remains were expected to reach here on the 8 o'clock train last night and will be buried in the Brown's creek cemetery, near her old home, this morning. The funeral train will start from the residence of Mr. L. R. Conro in this city this morning at 9 o'clock.
