He was born July 18, 1890 to William and Mary Hunt in Barron, Wisconsin. Wisconsin. In 1902, he moved to Sandpoint, Idaho with his parents. He worked with his father, who had started one of the first brick yards, making bricks used in countless buildings in Sandpoint and the surrounding country. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Humberson in Douglas, Wyoming in 1909. They had three children, (Richard, Ernest and Bessie). They homestead two tracts of land, 320 acres near La Grange and Orin Junction ,Wyoming. During this time, he was employed by the Chicago and North Western as a section foreman. In 1930 he was united in marriage with Ruby Coleman at Spearfish, South Dakota, while he was employed as a bridge foreman for Peterson Construction Co. Settling in Casper, Wyoming, here they had two daughters, (Lela and Garnett). In 1943, he returned to Idaho, where he settled on a ranch in Upper Pack river, during this time, working in the woods with team of horses and for the Spokane International Railroad. During his life he pursued his hobbies of oil painting and carving, which he shared with many people. In 1971, he left his ranch and since, has been residing with his daughters.
He is survived by three daughters, Bessie Rose, Phoenix, Arizona: Lela Dunder, Post Falls, Idaho and Garnett Stark, Sandpoint, Idaho. One son, Richard Hunt, Richland, Washington and five grandchildren ,numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Hunt , Beaumont, California: and five brothers.
