Service for Stanley Alfred Jacobson , 96, will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint.

Mr. Jacobson , who was born in Wisconsin, died Saturday. He grew up on the family homestead in Harding County, S. D., and moved to the Oden area near Sandpoint in 1920. Mr. Jacobson worked as a horseteam logger and also built area log flumes and worked on log drives on the Pack River and Clark Fork River.

He married Gertrude Bonner in 1933, and the couple moved to Oregon in 1940, where he could work as a logger year around. The couple returned to the Sandpoint area in 1989. His wife died in 1990.

He moved to the Puget Sound area in 1993 to be near family. Survivors include his daughter, Marla Blaser; a brother, Alvin Jacobson ; four grandchildren, Laurie, Lissa, Ray and Lesley; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Oden Busy Bees or Panhandle Habitat for Humanity.
