In 1953 he came to Sunnyside and attended and later graduated from Sunnyside High School in the class of 1956. Vern joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating from high school and served his country for 2 years. He was a mechanic, carpenter, farmer, truck driver, friend, and advisor. He was a member of the A.A.R.P. and of the Carpenter's Union local No 1849.
Survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold B. Farnworth and Ruth L. Farnworth, Brother Clifton Farnworth, and his daughters Betty Jean Farnworth and Linda L. Knowles.
He was married to Pearl C. Farnworth for 42 years.
