Beulah Dickenshied, 97, a gentle loving woman, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Walnut Grove Assisted Living. She was born July 5, 1914, in Plover, Wis., the daughter of Levi and Nellie McGown and graduated from Stevens Point High School. Beulah worked at Hardware Mutual Insurance (now Sentry) in Stevens Point before she married Clarence Dickenshied on Sept. 8, 1938, at St. Stephen Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in April, 2006. For 67 years, she and Clarence made a happy home while raising two sons, Richard (Pat), Dickenshied, Punta Gorda, Fla.; Robert (Barb) Dickenshied, Las Cruces, N.M.; and one daughter, Janet (Myron) Skaleski, Green Bay. She was a longtime member of Annunciation Parish in Green Bay and a member of the Ladies Society in her younger years. Many happy years were spent on the Bay at their cottage at Edgewater Beach where they entertained their family and friends. She was a great baker and generous with her cookies and cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed cooking meals for every holiday and relished having kids and extended family at her home. She and Clarence looked forward to their trips to Florida and New Mexico when the weather was cold in Green Bay.
She was especially proud of her six grandsons, Richard Dickenshied, Punta Gorda, Fla.; Randy (Marianne) Dickenshied, Myrtle Beach, N.C.; Patrick (Lisa) Dickenshied, Green Bay; James (Chrissy) Skaleski, Green Bay; Thomas Skaleski, Janesville; and Scott Dickenshied, Tucson, Ariz. Also a source of pride are Beulah's ten great-grandchildren, Christina, Colter and Tyler Dicksenshied, Chad and Kaitlyn Dickenshied, Courtney and Nicholas Skaleski and Brecklyn, Brody and Benjamin Skaleski.
Beulah is survived by her sister-in-law, Anita Campshure; and her granddaughter-in-law, Susan Dickenshied.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her siblings, Hazel Cater, Leslie, Bernard and Harlow McGown.
Friends may call at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St., from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum
