EFFINGHAM - Mrs. Bland (Lucy E. Gephart) Henderson, 87, of Effingham died at 9:20 a.m. Monday at Lakeland Nursing Center, Effingham.

Mrs. Henderson was born Feb. 7, 1895, in Effingham County, the daughter of Thomas Benton and Cora E. (Poe) Gephart. She married Bland Henderson in 1914. He died in 1975.

She was a member of the Willow Street Church of Christ, Effingham.

Surviving are her sons, Ardus of La Porte, Ind; Emil E. of Gary, Ind., Maurice T. of Brekenbridge, Mo., V. Leon of Summers Point, N. J., Harold W. of Turnersville, N. J., Richard L. of Highland Park; brother, Alfred Gephart of Little Rock, Ark; sisters , Velma Bloemker of Gila, Rose Bloemker of Lincoln, 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, with burial in Oakridge Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
