Gladys Mabel Drovdahl, born on July 16, 1918 in Plains, MT, passed away peacefully in Shoreline, WA on November 22, 2009.
She is survived by her four children, Betty Weber, Dolly Coulter, Bob Drovdahl (Joy), and Karen Gladyschild, seven grandchildren, and ten great- grandchildren. Gladys' five remaining siblings include Esther Larsen, Peg Durland, Mike Miller, Midge Breen, and Joyce Holcomb.
Gladys lived in Spokane for 45 years. For 23 years she was employed in food service at Gonzaga University, including time as the snack bar manager. In her "retirement" years she provided in-home care for the elderly. In 2004, at the age of 86, she finally retired and moved to the Seattle area to be near family. Gladys especially enjoyed visits from the "little ones."
Gladys was a long-time member of Beacon Chapel. Her faith in Christ was expressed best in her selfless work serving others, her cheerfulness and warmth toward all, and her positive outlook on life.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 6, at the CRISTA Senior Community Chapel, 19319 King's Garden Lane, in Shoreline. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances in Gladys' name to World Concern (19303 Fremont Ave. North, Shoreline, WA 98113) or the charity of your choice.
