Lena Lee Johnson Mitchell, 73, of Front Royal, VA died on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Winchester Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Dennis Baldwin. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Mitchell was born August 25, 1938 in Front Royal, VA, daughter of the late Joseph Edward Johnson and Lennis Lee Ramey Johnson. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church of God and Front Royal Women of the Moose Lodge # 1194.
Surviving are her husband Kenneth Mitchell of Front Royal; two daughters Donna Poe of Strasburg and Judith Boyd of Havelock, NC; three sisters Claudette Yowell and Frances Woodward of Front Royal and Joyce Lucas of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Eunice Joanne Goff.
Pallbearers will be Gene Higgins, Rick Davis, Chris Ramsey, Melvin Gochenour, Jeff Settle, and Charles Frazier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alfred Brill, Junior Andrews, Ernie Watson, Joe Grimsley, Randy Leach, and Vincent Carter.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
