Born in Madison County on May 31, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Top
and Lillie Mae Graham Herring. She was an inspector in the textile industry
and was a member of the Vineyard’s Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Bryant was
preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lee Bryant; and a brother, Thurman
Herring.
Survivors include a son, James Herring, Dewy Rose; daughter, Janice Echols,
Bowman; brothers, Henry David Herring and Rufus Herring, both of Comer, and
Rabun Herring, Athens; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 27, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral
Home with the Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. Burial was in the Vineyard Creek
Baptist Church cemetery.
