His 1930 Fed census listed him and his family living in Wrightsville, Johnson Co., Georgia.

Assumed death in Georgia and know it was after his 1930 Fed census and before his wife's 1940 Fed census (she is listed as "WD" in the 1940 census). Cannot find his death certificate.

Born in Peacocks District #91, Washington Co., Georgia. Birth date from his World War I Draft Registration Card

Married 3 Jan 1901 in Washington County, GA, to Sarah Viola Tanner (1886/GA-1950/GA); all of their census records locate them in either Washington County, GA or Johnson County GA.

Father of Fred Minion (1901/GA-1982/GA), Ora Lee (1908/GA-1995/GA), and Oscar Earl (1913/GA-1932/GA).

Brother of Benjamin Thomas Layton.

Jesse and his brother Benjamin married Tanner sisters (Sarah & Callie).
