Fred J. Miller, 61, of 123-1/2 N. Bloomington St., employed for many years as a conductor by the Burlington Railroad, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital following an extended illness. He had been in failing health the past year.

He was born January 22, 1896 in Aurora, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Miller. He had been a resident of Streator 15 years.

He was united in marriage with Ann Kreier of this city on November 22, 1944.

She survives with three step-daughters: Delores Katchmar, Pauline Hillier and Maxine Allen, all of Streator; and five grandchildren.

Also left are his parents and five children by a previous marriage: Beatrice Du Sell, Harold Miller, Geraldine Hendry and Harvey Miller of Aurora, and Dr. Raymond Miller of Streator; and 17 grandchildren.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Streator Elks Lodge.
