War Veteran Passes Away - James A. Loney Dies of Pneumonia After Three Weeks Illness.
James Adkinson Loney, a Civil War veteran who has been for fifty-three years in the employ of the Wabash railroad passed away yesterday. He had been ill for three weeks with pneumonia. Death occurred at his home, 608 North Wasson street. He was born August 24, 1844 in Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. On Sept. 24, 1887 he was united in marriage in Chicago to Dora R. Harter, who survives with one daughter, Mrs. Edward Buske of this city. Two brothers, Joseph Loney of Indianapolis and Charles Loney of LaFayette, Ind., also survive. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the home, with burial in Riverview. Mr. Loney, who was highly respected among a wide acquaintance here, was a member of the Forest Park Council Rolan Arcanum. He served in the Civil War for three years.
