Percy Beman Dies in Grand Island Fri.
Funeral services for Percy Beman were held Monday, November 6, at the Arcadia Methodist Church. Members of the Legion Post of Arcadia attended as an honorary group. Interment was in the Arcadia Cemetery.
Abram Percy Beman, son of John and Elizabeth Laub Beman, was born near Chapman, Nebraska, June 18, 1892, and departed this life at Grand Island, Nebraska, following a lingering illness November 3, 1967, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 15 days.
He was married to Anna Emilie Lucas at Grand Island September 6, 1919. Mrs. Beman died in 1947. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Arcadia American Legion Post #251 for many years. He farmed in Custer county and Valley county, near Arcadia for many years and was employed for eight years by the Nebraska Highway Road Department until retiring in 1957. He moved into Arcadia several years ago which has been his home since.
Survivors include a son, John Delmar Beman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a daughter, Lois Wood of Arcadia, Nebraska; two brothers, Ralph of Omaha, Nebraska, and John of Crawford, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Baker of Central City, Nebraska, and Miss Alice Beman of Galva, Illinois; and five grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, one brother, and one sister.
