She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Saunders of San Antonio and her brother, J. K. Smith of Kinston N.C.
She is survived by her brother, Howard Smith of Washington North Carolina and a sister, Mrs. Carolyn Stroud of Pink Hill, North Carolina. She leaves behind her two sons, Charles "Sid " Saunders and his wife Karen of San Antonio and Joe Saunders and his wife Tana of Comfort; three grand children, Charles Douglas Saunders and his wife Tiffani of San Antonio, Jonathan Saunders of Los Angeles, Cherie Saunders of New Braunfels; and one great grandchild, Sidney Saunders of San Antonio.
Martha spent her adult life in San Antonio and was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
Entombment will be with her husband at Sunset Memorial Park in a private ceremony and a memorial to be held a later date.
In lieu of flowers Martha requested gifts could be made to the Grace Presbyterian Memorial Fund 950 Donaldson Ave, San Antonio, TX 78228.
