Wayne E. Thrift, 24, Maroa, Dies in Clinton
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Maroa Methodist church for Wayne E. (Pete) Thrift of Maroa, with burial in the Maroa cemetery. Friends may call at the Dawson and Wikoff funeral home in Maroa after 6 p.m. today.
Mr. Thrift died at 10:15 a.m. yesterday in the John Warner hospital in Clinton, where he had been a patient since Sunday.
He was born Nov. 11, 1919, a son of Joseph and Mary A. Garvin Thrift, in Maroa, where he spent all of his life. He married Dorothy J. Braden in Paris, MO. on Dec. 7, 1941. A 1939 graduate of the Maroa high school, he was employed as a checker by the Garfield division of the Houdaille-Hershey Corp. He was a member of the Maroa Methodist church.
Besides his wife and parents, he leaves two brothers, Franklin of Clinton and John of South Bend, Ind., and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Williamson of Kenney.
