Alice Rachel Pollard was born in Phillips Co., Kansas to Jessie and Melissa Pollard on Dec. 20, 1881. She was united in marraige to James Tannahill Morton on Feb 13, 1901 and they established their home within a few miles of their birthplaces in the vicinity of the Iowa Union Community, northwest of Phillipsburg, Kansas. Their daughter Icle, and 2 sons, Cecil James and Ray Radford, were born at that place and they lived there until 1921 when they established a home adjoining Stocton, Kansas. In 1938 they moved west to Lebanon, Oregon where they were privileged to celabrate their Golded Wedding anniversary in 1951. In May of that year her husband died and she continued to live in her home until June 1950 when because of failing health she sold her home and came to live with her daughter and son-in-law, William Outhouse, in Long Pine, Nebraska or where ever their work took them to South Dakota.
