BRONSON - A Levy County grand jury will convene Tuesday to determine if a 17-year-old juvenile intentionally shot his mother to death Christmas Eve. Lorraine Frances Adams, 49, of Inglis was pronounced dead at her home by emergency medical technicians who arrived shortly after the 7 p.m. shooting. A spokesman for the Levy County Sheriffs Department said the woman suffered a single gunshot wound in the back from a 30-30 rifle. Authorities originally anticipated charging the juvenile, whose name has not been released because of his age, with manslaughter but have foregone filing any official charges until the grand jury meets. The woman's body has been taken to Alachua General Hospital in Gainesville for an autopsy.
