Funeral services for Cora Babcock, 88, will be at 2 pm Wednesday at Walker funeral home.
Mrs Babcock died Sunday morning at Sidney health care center where she had been a resident of the past two years. Prior to moving to Sidney, she had been at Gillespie rest home here in Clarinda.
Her last Clarinda home was at 808 N 15th and after leaving her home she stayed with her children before going to Gillespie.
The daughter of Lewis and Ida Shumaker Schrodt, she was born Oct 5, 1888 near Ellisville, Ill, and was married to Horace Loucian Babcock, Dec 27, 1908.
They made their home in the Corning and Clarinda areas.
Survivors include four children, Gerald of Sidney, Mrs Paul (Anitta) Delehant of Shenandoah, Ghlee of Moline, Ill and Arlo of Readly, Cal.
There are 15 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Brothers are Arthur Schrodt of Creston, Jim Schrodt and Earl Schrodt of Cromwell and Albert Schrodt of Oskaloosa. One sister is Mrs Elmer (Pearl) Williams of Prescott.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958 and by two brothers, one sister and one grandchild.
