Funeral services for George Daniel Stafford, 76, former member of the Alliance police department, will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Landa Funeral Home chapel.
Mr. Stafford died at his home in Minitare on November 17. He had come to the Alliance vicinity in 1894. He farmed and served as in Alliance policeman until moving to Minitare in 1942.Mr. Stafford was born July 30, 1875 at Cortland, Kan. In 1897, he was married at Gering to Agnes Tompkins who survives. Other survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Schmidt of Bellflower, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Chris Nelson of Long Beach, Calif., and two grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
