He attended the Alta school and graduated in 1886, the first to graduate from the Alta High School. He was associated with his father in a general merchandising business in Alta, and became manager of the store when his father passed away in 1907.
In 1916 the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa and Mr. Conner was one of the organizers of the Commonwealth Trust and Savings Bank and served as cashier until 1922. He was affiliated with the Toy National banking interests for fifteen years, being manager of city properties for the Farmers Loan and Trust Company and Insurance department, when he retired in 1937 and moved to California. In 1940 he and Mrs. Conner established their residence in Glendale where they still resided.
He was united in marriage to Lillian E. Parker, June 3, 1891, who preceded him in death in 1920. To this union three children were born, Floyd A., Fern Nyberg and Clyde Aaron who died in infancy.
He was married to Jessie E. Olson, November 20, 1924, at Alta, Iowa.
Mr. Conner was a member of Morningside Lodge 615, A. F. & A. M., and Morningside Chapter of Eastern Star. he was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to the Sioux City consistory, and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. He was also a member of the First Methodist Church of Glendale, and Service Class.
