He was born April 6, 1928 in Wayne County, KY, to Ephraim M. and Virginia (Alexander) Black. Earl attended Sulphur Springs Schools. He worked at Durham Manufacturing and retired from Muncie Chevrolet after 24 years. Earl was a member of Riverview Baptist Church of Albany and served as a Deacon of the church. Mr. Black proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Clona (Bell) Black; three sons; one daughter;
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leo and Jessie Black; and three sisters, Ethel Storie, Zelma Persing, and Renda Black.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Daryl Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary and one hour prior to services on Monday.
