BERNIECE M. HOOK, 85, of Hicksville, Ohio, died on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at her home. Born Jan. 30, 1926, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Ida (Amstutz) Beltz. She was a 1944 graduate of Elmhurst High School, Fort Wayne. She worked at International Harvester, Fort Wayne for 10 years. She and her husband lived on a farm and grew "Hooks Sweet Onions" for (20) years. On Aug. 21, 1946, she married Cecil Hook Jr.; he preceded her in death in 1989. She was a member of Grabill Missionary Church, Harlan. She is survived by three sons, Cecil III of Hicksville, Ohio, Brent of Kendallville and Greg of Leo; a daughter, Marcia Boucher of Noblesville, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchild ren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Jiggs Beltz. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, Ohio, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Jack Teeple officiating. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
