Services for Geneva Bessie Rhodes, 64, of Edna, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the United Methodist Church in Edna.

Mrs. Rhodes was born Oct. 20, 1918, southwest of Valeda in the Snowhill area to Joseph E. and Edna (Kinnamon) Sands. She attended Valeda grade school and in 1936 graduated from Edna High School.

On April 10, 1937, she married Howard S. Rhodes in Independence. They made their home in Edna where they farmed. Mr. Rhodes died in October 1974.

In 1967, Mrs. Rhodes began working as a cook for the Edna Elementary School and was the head cook at the time of her death. She was a member of the Edna United Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include two sons, Steve E. and Ronald H., both of Edna; two daughters, Jeanette Wegele of Topeka and Sharon E. of Edna; a brother, Guy Sands of Princeton, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

Burial will be in the North Edna Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Colonial Chapel until 9 p.m. Friday or at the church in Edna after 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The family suggests memorials to the Edna Grade School.
