Mrs. Edith Keller Branthafer, 8 West Water Street, Mount Union, died in the Black Community Hospital at Lewistown on Saturday, Nov. 5, 1966.
She was born Feb. 28, 1903 in Franklin County, a daughter of Floyd Britton and Zelda Zelone Ricker) Keller. She was united in marriage to Ernest E. Branthafer on July 15, 1919. They moved to Mount Union in 1925 and to Mapleton Depot in 1946. Mr. Branthafer died on March 21, 1960 and his wife shortly there-after returned to Mount Union to reside.
She is survived by the following children: James Branthafer, Walnut Bottom; Floyd and Guy Branthafer, Indianapolis, Ind.; Kathryn Branthafer, West Pittsburgh; Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Wide, Mapleton Depot; Clifford Branthafer, Mount Union; William Branthafer, Shirleysburg, R.D.1 , Mrs. Roy (Shirley) Vaughn, Mount Union. Twenty-one grandchildren, two grear grandchildren also survive, along with one brother, Walter Keller of Mount Union, one sister, Mrs. Joseph Cramer of Mount Union, R.D. and two half-brothers, George Gerholt of Las Vegas, Nev., and John Gerholt of the U.S. Navy.
She attended the Mapleton Evangelical United Brethren Church and was a member of the King's Daughters Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Clark funeral home in Mount Union with the Rev. Barry Lewis officiating. Interment will be made in the Mount Union IOOF Cemetery. Friends are being received at the funeral home.
