Aaron Soule, one of the oldest settlers in Kalamazoo county, passed away at his home in Paw Paw Tuesday morning at 6 o'clock after an illness of a week. He was 66 years of age, and was the son of Aaron Soule of Climax township. He leaves a wife and eight children. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, and Thursday morning he was taken to Climax for burial. His four sons, W. H. Soule of Kalamazoo, Melvin, George, and Lewis of Paw Paw, acted as bearers. Two other sons, Frank Soule, Iowa and Charles Soule of Minnesota were unable to be present at the burial of their father. Kalamazoo Evening News October 10, 1899 page 5
