Mrs. Anna Soule.
Mrs. Anna D. Soule passed away at her home in this city, Monday morning Oct. 23, 1911, at 9:15 a. m. aged 68 years, 5 months and 8 days.
The lady's maiden name was Billings and she was born in Warren Ohio in 1843. She was married to Harry Soule Sept. 27, 1877, who passed away some thirty years ago. They were the parents of two children, one dying in infancy. The other is Mrs. Georgie Hurdle who made her home with her mother during her declining years. Three brothers, Orlanda Billings, of Wyaconda, Mo.[,] Levi Billings, of Albia, Iowa, and Emmett, of Keokuk, also survive.
Mrs. Soule's health has been failing for some time and friends were in a measure prepared for her death announcement when it came. Her's [sic] was a useful life often beset with trials and sorrow but she lived secure in the true Christian faith which she adopted many years ago. The community sorrows with the family in their loss.
The funeral services occur this afternoon at the christian [sic] church, E. A. Jordon officiating.
Burial in LaHarpe cemetery.~Creative history is one way to protect a lady's good name. Emmett was Dorcas' son, not her brother.
