PUBLISHED OBITUARY: Entered into rest, in this city, January 28, 1921, Andrew P. Andersen, beloved husband of Elvina Andersen, father of Mrs. Anna Kallem, Emil, Alice, Wilmer and Luella Anderson, Martin Anderson of Chicago, and Mrs. Minnie Hendericks of Iowa; a native of Denmark, aged 64 years 6 months. Remains at the funeral hoe of James R. Garlick, 1517 Eleventh street. Funeral notice hereafter.

BIOGRAPHY: Born July 13, 1856 in Tars parish, Hjorring, northern Jutland [Nordjylland], Denmark, son of Jens Peter Jensen(1823 - 1899)[he later used the name Anders Andersen in America] and Christine Sarah Sorensdatter (1827 - 1909). Christened Anders Peter Andersen; anglicized name to Andrew in America. Andrew, his parents and siblings left Denmark for USA at various times, settling in Chicago and in Ringsted area, Emmet Co, Iowa and nearby Kossuth Co. Andrew immigrated 1876.

He married first to Martine Andersen (born about 1865) who bore a son, Andrew Martin Andersen (1882-1947), who was born in Kossuth Co Iowa but lived mostly in Chicago. Andrew Peter married second to a Miss Hansen, who bore a daughter Minnie K. Andersen (born 1892) in Ringted. Minnie lived in Iowa and married Henry John Hendricksen. Andrew married a third time about 1896 to Elvine Christensen (1874 -1962), a Danish immigrant. Elvine and Andrew had 2 children in Chicago, Anna (1898-1974) and one that died as an infant. They moved to Missouri, and had another infant that died, then Emil Andrew Andersen (1902-1971),
Alice Andersen (born 1904), and Wilmer Ryland Andersen (1910-1980). The whole family moved to Sacramento in 1910. Andrew had been working for the Pullman Railway Car Company in Chicago, and continued as a car builder in Sacramento. They family lived at 823 12th St, 3720 Magnolia, 3222 Cypress, 3410 Orange Ave, and by 1920 at 3418 Orange Ave where he lived until he passed away. His wife Elvina and some of the children continued living there.
