Elva Mae Rickman-Yochum 93 years of age went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2019.

Elva was born June 21, 1926 to Samuel Thomas & Mae Dell Nixon in Huntsville, TX, where she was reared and received her education. April 10, 1942 she was united in marriage to Jay Dean Rickman and they made their home in Bartlesville. To this union was born a daughter Shirley Jean Rickman.

She was employed as an office clerk and cashier at H & H Food Center for many years and retired in September of 1985.

In February 1999 she united in marriage to Kenneth Yochum.

In her younger years she enjoyed sewing, crocheting afghans and dolls, cooking, baking, canning, and playing Canasta. She made the best homemade chicken and noodles and fruitcake ever. She even tried her hand at being a lumber jack taking out a mimosa tree with a skill saw, she burnt up the saw but she took the tree out. Later in life she enjoyed playing chicken foot with friends Art, Nadine & Connie, going to dances, taking bus trips to the Casino and even locally, taking trips to Branson and even a cruise. She loved going to Grand Lake spending time with her granddaughter and family going for boat rides, having her great grandson Robbie chauffer her around on the golf cart and even riding the 4-wheeler (in her 80's), but she would only ride with her grandson-in-law George. After a full day of events at the lake and a good meal she always knew it would end with George asking her "Grannie are we going to the casino".

She was very strong willed, determined, and a hard worker all of her life and those who knew her, knew she was very opinionated but that was just her. Although she could be a handful in her last year as she resided at Forrest Manor Nursing Home her caregivers came to love her and some would tell her they loved her as they would leave her room.

Survivors; husband Kenneth Yochum, daughter Shirley Wilson, grandchildren Barbara Ketchum & Joey Wilson, great-grandsons Robbie Ketchum, Brandon & Travis Wilson, nephew Jerry Bass & great-nephews Johnny & Brian Brewer.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jay Dean Rickman, parents Samuel Thomas & Mae Dell Nixon, sisters Doris Mozell Bridwell & Epsie Lee Suire, granddaughter Brenda Kay Martin & grandson-in-law George Earl Ketchum.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Journey Home, 900 Washington Blvd, Bartlesville, OK 74006, in memory of Elva Mae Rickman-Yochum.
