MARION - Mrs. Lena Byrd, wife of Culbert Byrd, died Saturday after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Church of God. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
She was a daughter of the late William and Martha Richardson of Brittons Neck.
Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Hammie James of Greensboro, N.C., Mrs. Coy Ammons and Mrs. I. B. Hucks, both of Marion, and Mrs. A. J. McCormick Jr. of Conway; four sons, Jesse Anderson, Maurice Byrd, William Byrd, James Byrd and Frank Byrd, all of Marion; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
