{Undertaker, Ex-Chief of Police Dies
M. H. Ankenbruck Succumbs to Heart Trouble at 12:30 am Today
Conducted Funeral Home Since 1910}

Martin H. Ankenbruck, aged 72, who served as Chief of Police of Fort Wayne for four years before he entered the undertaking business in 1910, died of heart trouble at 12:30 am today at his home, 228 East Suttenfield Street. Although Mr. Ankenbruck had been in failing health for four years, he had been critically ill only since last Tuesday morning.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 am at the Ankenbruck Funeral Home, and at 9am at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. J. Nicholas Allgeier will officiate. Burial in the Catholic Cemetery. The body may be viewed at the funeral home after 3 pm Sunday.
{Widow, Four Children Survive}
Surving are the widow, Mrs. Mary Ankenbruck; a son, Oscar G. Ankenbruck, manager of the Vogue Quality Shop and a member of the Ankenbruck Funeral Home firm; three daughters, Miss Loretta Ankenbruck, a member of the funeral home firm; Mrs. Clarence H. Haffner of Indianapolis, and Mrs. John A. Montgomery of this city; a sister, Mrs. Jacob Hartman of this city; a brother, Louis Ankenbruck of this city, and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Ankenbruck was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, was a member of St. Charles Benevolent Society of the church and the Knights of Columbus, Kreis Stolzenau and Catholic Benevolent League of Indiana.
