Estherville – Services for Lois Maxine Foderberg, 62, were held Thursday at Chandler Reformed Church in Chandler, Minn. with interment in East Side Cemetery, Estherville.

She was born March 13, 1928 at Chandler, Minn., the daughter of James and Kate Vos Swart and grew up there where she also attended school. After graduation she worked at the North Y restaurant at Spencer and then attended beauty school in Fairmont, MInn. Following graduation she opened Swart's Beauty Salon in Jackson, Minn. in 1960. On June 3, 1968 she married Linn Foderberg at Sioux City. He died in May, 1976. She continued to own and operate the salon until 1969 when she sold the business but continued to work there. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Estherville; Wa-tan-ye and Jackson Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include one son Gary Swart, rural Iona, Minn., two grandchildren; one step-son, Gary Foderberg; two step-grandchildren, Olathe, Kansas; four sisters and four brothers; and a special niece, Kathleen Prahm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 7, 1990)
