Daughter of Phillip Creech and Ella A. Teal McLaurin, wife of Walter Lee Guy.

MARION — Mrs. Susie McLaurin Guy, 83, died Monday, June 21, 2004 at Marion County Medical Center after an illness. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, at Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Richardson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Guy was born in Cheraw, a daughter of the late Philip Creech McLaurin and Ella Teal McLaurin. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Lee Guy.

Mrs. Guy had retired from the jewelry business in which she and her husband owned Guy's Jewelers. She was a member of Marion First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Guy is survived by two sons, Walter Lee Guy III and Dr. Daniel W. Guy; a daughter, Joyce Guy Skipper; two half sisters, Gloria Stephens of Charlotte, Helen McMillan of Murrells Inlet; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
