Elmer was born in Southbrook Township the son of Fred & Tena Nederhoff Paplow. Elmer grew up and attended country schol in Southbrook Township. On October 12, 1947 he married Dorothy Burgess at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulda, MN. After marriage they lived by Avoca for a short time before moving back to Southbrook Township and in 1955 moved to a farm in Bondin Township, Murray County, west of Fulda. Elmer retired in 1989 due to failing health. Elmer was a member of Dundee Lutheran Church in Dundee, MN where he was confirmed on September 15, 1955. Elmer enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren and with friends.
Dorothy & Elmer were the parents of Wayne (Sheila), Roger, Douglas, Bob, Tammy (Brian) Laackman, Todd (Barb) & Dennis (Donna).
Elmer's siblings include Margaret Voit, Katie Tiffany, Fred, Raymond, Darlene, Carl & five infant brothers & sisters whom preceded Elmer in death.
Funeral services were held from Dundee Lutheran Church in Dundee on October 25, Rev Mark Yackel-Juleen officiating.
