C . H. POLLARD and Mrs. POLLARD
A plane crash near Temple, Oklahoma Saturday afternoon of last week claimed the lives of two Bulcher people, well known in Saint Jo. Funeral services were held for CHESTER HOLLIE POLLARD, 46, and his wife, MARIE E. POLLARD, 39, were conducted at the First Baptist Church at Healdton, Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. were killed when their plane struck a high voltage line when Pollard attempted to land in a field near Temple. They had left Bulcher only a few minutes earlier and had planned to visit Mrs. Pollard's brother, BILL WALLACE, who lived only about 200 yards from where the plane struck the electrical line. The plane burst into flames and Mrs. Pollard was trapped in the wreckage. Pollard was thrown clear. Mrs. Pollard perished in the plane… Pollard did not succumb to his injuries until minutes after reaching a Wichita Falls hospital at 3:00. He had compound fractures of both legs, a fractured skull and severe burns. Mr. Pollard was familiar with the field, having landed there on a number of occasions… Pollard and his wife took regular plane trips over this section of the state and often made flights to the Gulf Coast on weekend fishing trips. Mr. Pollard had been an employee of the Kewanee Oil Co. since 1936. They moved to Bulcher from Healdton, Oklahoma in 1942. The fatal plane crash was occurred on another Kewanee Oil Co. lease.

CHESTER HOLLIE POLLARD was born in Montague County October 11, 1905. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. MARGIE POLLARD of Modesto, California; two brothers, CHARLES O. POLLARD Jr. of Modesto and G. W. POLLARD of Fowler, Colorado; and a sister Mrs. THOMAS B. EMERSON…(article cut off)
