Estherville - Services for Mrs. Lula Knutson, 97, Estherville will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Omodt officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Lutheran Cemetery, Dolliver. She died Wednesday, March 12, 1986 at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, 103 North Ninth Street, Estherville, from 3-8 p.m. Thursday.

She was born Dec. 2, 1888 near Fort Dodge to Mr. and Mrs. Lars Finnestad and received her education in rural Fenton Schools. On May 8, 1915 she was united in marriage to Henry Martin Knutson in Fenton. She lived most of her life in the Estherville area and was employed by Holy Family Hospital and later Good Samaritan Center as a nurses aide. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and ELCW.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ruth Knutson, Estherville; three grandchildren, Roger Knutson and wife Dianna, Estherville, Mrs. Jeffrey (Ronda) Sowada, Vadnais Heights, Minn., and Mrs. Richard (Kathryn) Long, Toledo, Ohio; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Amos Finnestad, Fenton, Norman Finnestad, Fenton; and one sister, Blanche Sjostrum, Minneapolis, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry on June 19, 1921; her parents; son, Bill Knutson; four brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 13, 1986)
