General Washington Mays born 1881 Boonville, Logan co Arkansas. Died 1960 Medford Jackson co Oregon. Married 1st Cordia Gunter of this union were four children. Carl Mays, Elva, Flossie and Arnold. Cordia died 1918, He then married Iva M Mays. In Indianola Oklahoma in 1919. To this Union were born 3 daughters and 1 son. Evelyn, Marilyn, Melva and R.G.Mays in Belen New Mexico. Where he lived for 19 years and then brought his family to Medford Oregon. Where he worked in the fields and kept bee's. During the War he lived in Portland and worked in the shipyards. Returning to Medford where he and Iva lived out their lives. Very loving and wonderful Grandfather. His eyes were bright blue and danced with glee as he teased and played. He was a joy to be around and is greatly missed.
