Ella was the daughter of William Lewis and Sarah Elizabeth Eppard Baker. She married Ernest Wirt Stanley on October 4, 1897, in Page County.

Mrs. Ella Stanley, widow of Ernest Stanley, died Tuesday, at the Gateway Convalescent Home at 3:18 p.m. after an illness of three weeks, aged 83 years.
She had been a resident of Hagerstown since 1914. Surviving are nieces and nephews in Virginia.
The funeral will be held at the Suter-Reuzer Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. Dr. J. Turnbull Spicknall.
Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
