Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt with the Rev. Donald Walczak officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Firkus was a member of the Ladies Rosary Society and the Sacred Heart League at St. Adalbert and a charter member of the Ladies Guild of St. Adalbert. Those organizations will combine with the general rosary at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Firkus was born Dec. 24, 1896, in the town of Sharon, a daughter of the late Valentine and Mary Platta. She attended town of Sharon schools and was married to Alex Firkus, on May 4, 1915, at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, in Rosholt. After their marriage, they lived at their present address in Rosholt, where Mr. Firkus was a produce buyer. He died in 1965.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Grace Knitter, Rosholt; four sons, Chester, Chicago, Emil, St. Petersburg, Fla., Myron (Julianne) 156 W. Randolph St., Rosholt, and Connie (Marlene) Milwaukee; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Check, 1300 Briggs St., and Mrs. Angeline Pudroski, 1026 Smith St.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, two grandchildren, one sister and four brothers.
