Adela Rowland married Joseph P. Dysart in 1870. According to her husband's obituary: "They had five children, four of whom survive [in 1924]. They are William R. Dysart, Ripon, J. C. Dysart, Lulu Dysart, a school teacher at West Division High school, and Carrie Dysart." (Milwaukee Journal, Saturday, 2 February 1924, page 3)

Mrs. Adela R. Dysart, wife of Supt. J. P. Dysart, of the Children's Home Society of Wisconsin, died Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at her home, 423 Wauwatosa Avenue, this city. Mrs. Dysart has been an invalid for the past twelve years. She was 61 years of age. Funeral services were held in the home on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and was private.
