OBITUARY
James M. Beal was born May 23 1942, in Greene county, Missouri, near Springfield and died at his home in Republic, Thursday evening, June 23, 1910, of heart failure.
He was married to Jemima Caroline White, of Illinois, September 2d, 1869. To this union eight children were born, all of whom are still living.
He lived in Illinois about six years, when he removed to Missouri where he lived the remainder of his life.
He moved to Ozark in 1901, and lived there until 1904, when he moved to Republic, Mo., where he lived until his death.
He was converted about six years ago at Marionville, Mo., and from that time lived a faithful Christian life. He joined the M. E. church about a year ago.
Funeral services were held at the residence about 10 o'clock Saturday morning, June 25, by Rev. Galbrath, pastor of the M. E. church at Republic. The talk was very brief, but impressive. The passage of Scripture he loved so well, was read; "I know that my Redeemer Liveth."
He was laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery in Republic, and leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his loss; five daughters and three sons. Mrs. Liva Arndt, of Springfield, Mrs. Eunice Spiess of Ozark, Mrs. Enna West, of Clever, Misses Lura and Resa Beal of Republic, Gratz Beal, of Clever, Wm. Beal, of Republic, and Ross Beal, of Aurora. Also a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Beal was an old soldier, a staunch Republican and a good citizen, and reared his children to love the land of his nativity and honor the flag. H will be missed by his family and entire community.

On Jan 27, 1864, James M. Beal enlisted at age 19 years; a farmer, at Hannibal, Mo., as a Private, Co. E, 21 Reg't Missouri Infantry for a term of 3 years.

Obituary from 30 June 1910 Christian County Republic says he married Jemima Caroline White 2 September 1869, that they lived for six years in Illinois before returning to Missouri and that she and all eight of their children survive: Mrs. Liva Arndt of Springfield, Mrs. Eunice Spiess of Ozark, Mrs. Enna West of Clever, Misses Laura and Reba Beal of Republic, Grantz Beal of Clever, Wm. Beal of Republic and Ross Beal of Aurora
