Ica Mae Johnson married Fred Stilwell on October 15, 1911 in Hannah, Oklahoma, and homesteaded in 1912 in Modina, Utah where Fred was employed by the S.P.L.A. and Salt Lake Railroad Company. They lived on Mill Street, what is now the Link River Nature Trail. Stilwell's were the last family to live on the west side of the river and moved October 15, 1938, because COPCO (now Pacific Power) wanted to close the river to the general public.

They were the parents of O. Darrel, Louis C., Mark E., Mary Ruth (Mrs. John Abell) Florence E. (Mrs. James Ramsey), Freda Madge (Mrs. Fred Kobler), and James F. Stilwell.
