PROSPER PLESSY----- DEATH COMES TO PROSPER PLESSY ------------ AGED MAN DIED LATE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON ------------ Demise Was Hastened By Accident Which He Suffered Several Days Ago---- Born in France ------------ Prosper Plessy passed away late yesterday afternoon at his home on Hershey avenue after having been ill for several years. His death was hastened by a severe fall which he suffered days ago when he sustained a ruptured blood vessel from which a hemorrage resulted. Mr. Plessy's condition gradually became weaker during the past three days and the end came at 5:15 o'clock yesterday.
Prosper Plessy was a native of France, having been born at Belford on February 10, 1838.
At the age of eight years,he came to this country with his parents, who almost immediately made their home in Muscatine. Since that time he had continued to reside in this city until the death came yesterday.
On April 28, 1866, he was united in marriage to Miss MARY DUBARD, of Canada. Four of the six children born to this happy couple survive. They are
Mrs. William FLETCHER, of Letts,
Mrs. Earl THOMPSON, of Douglas, Oklahoma;
Mrs. Frank BEHRES and
Frank Plessy of this city.
The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning from St. Mary's church and interment will be made in St. Mary's cemetery. Rev.J. I. Grieser will have charge of the services.
